Methodology for Assessing Methane Recovery from Anaerobic Digestion of Manure to Produce Biogas

Version: 1.0

Body:

This methodology covers the installation, replacement or modification of anaerobic manure management systems in livestock farms resulting in anaerobic digestion of manure to produce biogas, which is then used, sold, or flared. The collection of manure from multiple farms to be digested in a central location is included. This methodology aligns with the methane recovery procedures of the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). It is based on the CDM methane recovery methodologies; AMS-III.D Methane recovery in animal manure management systems and AMS-III.AO Methane recovery through controlled anaerobic digestion.
